Visiting Graduate Students

Visiting graduate student (VGS) is a special student status at the University of Washington designed to provide access to graduate courses in the MBA Program while a student is pursuing a degree at another accredited institution. The UW Business School evaluates applicants, and determines whether they are qualified to do graduate-level work in the courses to which they seek entry.

The application process for VGS applicants is coordinated between two offices: the Graduate Admissions Office and the UW MBA Program Office. You may be contacted by either of these offices throughout the application process with requests for additional material.

Applying as a Visiting Graduate student

VGS applicants must follow the instructions for non-degree applicants in Apply and Interview. Additional information is available on the UW Graduate School Web site.

Note: Due to the extra time required for visa processing, international applicants should apply as early as possible when trying to secure special student status as a Visiting Graduate Student. International applicants also will be asked to submit additional materials.  International students, who are applying for VGS status as exchange students from one of our partner schools, should work with the Global Business Center

Admitted Visiting Graduate students
